Motown Legend Thelma Houston, Ozomatli to Headline 10thAnniversary Route 66 Cruisin’ Reunion

(ONTARIO, California, August 14, 2023) – Two international recording stars and Grammy Award winners – Latin rock icons Ozomatli and Motown legend Thelma Houston – will headline the 10th Anniversary Route 66 Cruisin’ Reunion, being held September 15-16 in downtown Ontario.

Ozomatli, formed in Los Angeles in 1995, has released seven studio albums, winning a Grammy Award in 2005 for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album and Latin Grammy Awards in 2002 and 2005 for Best Alternative Music Album. The band will headline Friday’s free concerts, September 15, at the Ontario Town Square, taking the stage at 8:30 p.m.

Houston, who scored a No. 1 hit in 1977 with “Don’t Leave Me This Way,” will headline Saturday’s free concert, September 16, taking the stage at 9 p.m. Houston signed her first record contract in 1967 and in recent years has collaborated with artists such as Morrissey and Bimbo Jones. Her dance single with Jones, “Turn Your World Around,” was a No. 7 hit on the Billboard Dance charts. But it’s her version of “Don’t Leave Me This Way” that made her an international star and a 1978 Grammy winner for Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Female. (See more on her show below.)
